Ukraine: Resolution #905


The U.S. Department of State has released the following information on adoptions from Ukraine:

On October 8, 2008 the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers approved Resolution #905, introducing new regulations for adoptions and the protection of the rights of adopted children. This Resolution cancels the previous adoption Resolution #1377. The new regulations went into effect on December 1, 2008.

The Resolution sets regulations for the registration of abandoned children at the local, regional and central levels. It also described adoption proceedings for both domestic and intercountry adoptions. For more information, you may read complete posting here.
